Questionable Teachings of Islam: One Billion People Deceived

Another account of Muhammad's life reveals how he reacted to a group of tribesmen who had converted to Islam while meeting with him. Here is what happened when they  later reverted back to paganism and killed one of Muhammad's servants:

" When this news reached the Prophet, he sent some people in pursuit of them. (So they were caught and brought back to the Prophet ). The Prophet gave his orders in their concern. So their eyes were branded with pieces of iron and their hands and legs were cut off and they were left away in Harra till they died in that state of theirs."   (See Hadith 234 Vol 1)  Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 505: Narrated Anas:

The above account is another one which moderate Muslims may have never been taught regarding the life and actions of the Islamic prophet, nor would they consider such examples to be that of a peaceful role model.

Throughout his sermons and engagements of war, Muhammad continually proclaimed himself to be the last and final prophet of God. However, it appears that even he had no personal assurance that he would have a life in paradise upon his death; instead, it seems he lived his life with many fears:

"The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) used to supplicate: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from my house falling on me, I seek refuge in Thee from falling into an abyss, I seek refuge in Thee from drowning burning and decrepitude. I seek refuge in Thee from the devil harming me at the time of my death, I seek refuge in Thee from dying in Thy path while retreating, and I seek refuge in Thee from dying of the sting of a poisonous creature."

( Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 8, Number 1547, Narrated AbulYusr )

By comparison, Christian belief teaches that God's love brings assurance to those who sincerely trust in Him through faith in Jesus' life:

"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also." (John 4:17-21)
