Questionable Teachings of Islam: One
Billion People Deceived
By the very context of the Qur'anic
verses and sayings of Muhammad cited within this chapter, it will
be quite difficult for Muslim public-relations groups to continue
their claim that Islam is a "peaceful" and "tolerant" religion.
While
Muhammad called for the persecution and slaying of unbelievers, the
New Testament teachings of Jesus call for an entirely different approach:
"Ye
have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and
hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them
that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who
despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the
children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun
to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just
and the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have
ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your bretheren
only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publican so? Be
ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
(Matthew: 5: 43-47)
Obviously, there is a vast difference between
the teachings of Muhammad and the teachings of Jesus.
Finally,
as long as Islamic groups follow the fundamental teachings
of Muhammad, this world will continue to be plagued with escalating
acts of terror and persecution against all non-Muslim people and societies.
Thus, the present "war against terror" is only able to succeed through
temporary containment. Peace will never be able to prevail
until the hearts and minds of those engaged in terror and hatred are
changed in the way that Jesus spoke of.
"Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they
shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called
the children of God."
(Matthew: 5: 7,8,9)
