5) Praying
at the wrong time of day results in beatings:
"...'Do not intend
to do your prayer at either sunrise or sunset, for the horns of Shaytan
rise with the rising sun and set with its setting...' Umar used to
beat people for that kind of prayer."'
(Malik's Muwatta: Book 15, No.
15.10.48-49)
6) Muhammad prohibits looking toward heaven while
praying:
"The Prophet said, 'What is wrong with those people
who look towards the sky during the prayer?' His talk grew stern while
delivering this speech and he said, 'They should stop (looking towards
the sky in prayer); otherwise their eye-sight would be taken away."'
(Sahih Bukhari: Vol 1, Book 12, No. 177)
7) Beware of the single
rider or a pair of riders who are travelling:
"The Apostle of
Allah (pbuh) said: 'A single rider is a devil, and a pair of riders
are a pair of devils, but three are a company of riders."
(Sunan Abu-Dawud:
Book 14, No. 2601)
8) Beware of being one who sleeps-in late:
"It
was mentioned before the Prophet that there was a man who slept the
night (until) morning (after sunrise). The Prophet said, 'He is a
man in whose ears (or ear) Satan had urinated."'
(Sahih Bukhari: Vol.
4, Book 54, No. 492)
9) Early Bedouins were assured of a large
dwelling place in paradise:
"The Prophet said, 'A tent (in Paradise)
is like a hollow pearl which is thirty miles in height and on every
corner of the tent the believer will have a family that cannot be
seen by the others."'
(Sahih Bukhari: Vol. 4, Book 54, No. 466)
